Our Facilites

Our story

I was lucky enough to have a friend invest in building my dream barn.
Most of it was a labor of love.

I had always wanted a place of my own where I could feed as much hay as I like, bed the stalls as high as I want, and turn my horses out as much as I want. To have a place where horses come first. They owe us nothing. We owe them everything! Most horses live a life of solitude and confinement, and are then ridden for our enjoyment and pursuit of our goals. They never asked for that life. We owe it to them to give them the best life we can with individual care and nurturing of individual personalities, so that they can shine inside and out.

Philosophy

My German training shapes a lot of my philosophy. Through correct basics, and emphasis on a balanced seat for the rider, we strive to have horses blossom into beautiful, graceful athletes with even better gaits and self carriage. I encourage riders to try and be their horse’s best advocate- to learn to listen to their equine partners and learn the correct way to communicate the aids with a balanced seat. We should never forget to have fun with our horses, and allow them, and ourselves to feel our joy and lightness.

I am ambitious and competitive, but most of all I enjoy the journey with my horses. I love to look back and see how far they have come. My grandfather always said: ‘a job worth doing, is a job worth doing well’. This sticks with me to this day, as I strive to develop a better moving, sounder, happier athlete and dance partner who can excel at whatever level or sometimes discipline they are best suited for.

Being self critical is not a bad thing. I think many times people have an agenda with their horses, and when their agenda is not met, they blame the horse instead of perhaps acknowledging that their goal was perhaps set too high, or too soon. Horses develop in their own time. My philosophy is to use a sympathetic and realistic approach, in creating a harmonious horse and rider combination, and horses that are happy in their work!

Many times riders set themselves and their horses up for failure because they don’t want to accept where they are at any given moment in time. Yes, you have to take a leap of faith, and dream big, but behind every big dream stands an even bigger effort.
